Color-drenching — carrying one color across the walls, trim, and cabinetry of a room — only works if the cabinets can match the paint on the wall. That's exactly what the Custom Paint program does: Eclipse and Shiloh cabinets can be finished in almost any Sherwin-Williams paint color.
Pricing
- Custom Paint finish: 20%, added to your species upcharge. Example: 20% Custom Paint + 8% Maple = 28% added to the order list price.
- Orders under $15,000 list are charged an additional $750 list custom paint fee.
Step 1: Identify the color early
Get the Sherwin-Williams color number from the client as early as possible — the sample door has to be made and approved before the project order goes in.
Step 2: Follow the steps for your line
Eclipse
- Email customer.service@wwinc.com to confirm a matching edge-band for the box is available in that color. Reach out to your rep with questions.
- Order a sample: CM 8½ × 11 ($350 list) or CM 12½ × 15½ ($585 list).
- On the order, enter the Sherwin-Williams color code (e.g. SW6671) as the color on the Eclipse order form, or put it in special instructions.
- Fill out the Custom Finish Approval Form and submit it with your Standard Order.
Shiloh
- Order a sample: CM 8½ × 11 ($350 list) or CM 12½ × 15½ ($585 list).
- On the order, enter the Sherwin-Williams color code (e.g. SW6671) as the color on the Shiloh order form, or put it in special instructions.
- Fill out the Custom Finish Approval Form and submit it with your Standard Order.
Lead time: as long as the sample door has been received before you submit the project order, Custom Paint adds no lead time.
Step 3: Set it up in 2020 Design Flex
- In the Finishes step, select Custom Paint (Specify SW#).
- Find the Sherwin-Williams color: in the Textures browser, open Catalog Textures → Paint → Sherwin Williams and pick the color by name and SW number.
- Change all variables to the custom color — door texture, drawer front, and both frame (horizontal and vertical) textures — so the rendering and the order match.
- If the order doesn't meet the $15,000 list minimum, add the custom paint upcharge item (CUSTPNT-UPCH, $750).
Why it wins jobs
- Exact match to the room. The client's designer picks the wall color; the cabinets come in the same Sherwin-Williams number.
- Fewer lost jobs to local custom shops. Custom color without leaving a production line you already know how to order.
- Approved before it's built. The sample door and approval form mean no surprises at install.
