W.W. Wood Products is now accepting orders on Cambridge, a new door style that adds a layer of detail to a familiar profile. It arrived alongside Pacifica and Ventura — and where those two go slimmer and more modern, Cambridge goes richer and more traditional.

Cambridge cabinet door in Maple Honey stain, showing the applied moulding framing a flat center panel

Cambridge in Maple Honey, W.W. Wood's newest finish.

The construction

  • Cambridge is a take on Malibu with an added applied moulding on the inside edge of the frame.
  • The applied moulding brings the rail and stile total width to 2″.
  • It also increases the door thickness to just under 7/8″.
  • The center is a solid, reversed flat insert panel.

Where it wins

  • Transitional and traditional kitchens where a plain shaker feels too simple but a raised panel feels dated — the stepped moulding adds shadow and depth without the bulk of a raised panel.
  • Libraries, offices, and built-ins where a furniture-like door is the point.
  • Stained maple. Shown in Maple Honey, the moulding profile picks up the stain and reads like millwork.
